Arborline Products was established in 1979 by Joe Jaques after the factory he had previously been involved in was razed to the ground in a spectacular fire.

With business partner Brian Smith and a staff of 5 or so he opened a new factory in Hamiton and began trading as a general joinery business.

Over the years doors became the emphasis with a large client being a caravan company and at one stage, courtesy of Rob Muldoon's export subsidies, a substantial number being sent to Australia.

Arborline became a ‘family business’ with the addition of Joe's sons Andrew in 1985 and Julian in 1993.

PVC edged and timber doors, both cabinet and entrance, have long been core products at Arborline and , as kitchen trends demanded, in 1995 Arborline purchased its first press and added Arborform (thermoformed) doors to the range. This style of door has grown in popularity enormously in the last decade and has made a considerable contribution to the growth of Arborline since its introduction.

This growth dictated that new premises were required and in 1997 a move across the road to the current factory was undertaken.

In 2000 Joe ‘hung up the apron’ and passed the day to day management of Arborline to Andrew and Julian. With a staff around forty Arborline continues to grow. A willingness to invest in new technology and the conscious emphasis on specialising in door manufacture would seem to ensure a solid future alongside the kitchen and joinery industries.
